Membership Requirements

Regular, post-doctoral fellow and graduate student membership is available according to the following criteria:


Any qualified individual who according to the STC Constitution has a continuing professional interest in the field of toxicology and who:

  1. is generally recognized as an expert in some aspect of toxicology or who possesses other specialized qualifications by reason of extensive experience in toxicological research, or:
  2. is responsible for the planning, conduct or interpretation of laboratory and clinical studies relating to toxicology.

Post-doctoral fellow and graduate student

Any post-doctoral fellow or graduate student enrolled in a postgraduate degree program with major emphasis on toxicology

Membership Fees

Regular: $125
Post-doctoral fellow and graduate student: $35
Retired: $35

The Membership Committee has the responsibility for evaluating each application according to these criteria.

Required Documents in Support of Membership Application

  1. A complete curriculum vitae including list of publications and a description of the applicant’s role in toxicology. For students this may be a brief outline of their thesis project.
  2. Sponsoring letters from two Regular members of STC clearly indicating reasons for their support. Only one sponsoring letter from a Regular member, ideally the applicant’s supervisor, is required for post-doctoral and graduate student members.
